About the Role
The CNC Lead will work alongside the CNC Manager, assisting with day-to-day operations of the CNC department. This role involves overseeing production schedules, supporting machinists, ensuring product quality, and helping drive continuous improvement across the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
· Develop CNC programs using CAM software based on engineering drawings and specifications.
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and resolve any issues that arise.
· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Ability to lift heavy objects.
· Ability to work after-hours when required.
· Stay current in technological advancements and embrace growth opportunities.
· Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models.
· Inputting the product design into the computer modeling software.
· Must have knowledge of Mastercam/Solidworks.
· Set up machines and prove CNC programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the CNC Manager in supervising daily operations within the CNC department.
Provide guidance, training, and support to CNC machinists and operators.
Help plan and prioritize workloads to meet production goals and deadlines.
Set up and operate CNC machines as needed to support team productivity.
Monitor quality and efficiency; ensure parts meet specifications and standards.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve issues.
Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
Support process improvements and implementation of lean manufacturing practices.
Serve as acting supervisor in the CNC Manager’s absence.

Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in CNC machining, at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and operation (mills and/or lathes).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T.
Experience with inspection tools and quality standards.
Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
